CAROLINE HERMANS, Head of Environmental Stewardship, Clinton Global Initiative
Caroline Hermans heads the Environmental Stewardship group at the Clinton Global Initiative. Established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) convenes global leaders to create and implement innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. To date members of the CGI community have made more than 2,800 commitments, which are already improving the lives of nearly 430 million people in more than 180 countries. When fully funded and implemented, these commitments will be valued at $69.2 billion. Dr. Hermans works with CGI members to develop commitments in the area of sustainable systems, with a focus on ocean health and resiliency, supply chain sustainability, natural capital and ecosystem services, responsible tourism, environmental education, waste reduction and recycling, and food security. Prior to joining CGI, Caroline worked at the U.S. Geological Survey as an ecological economist conducting research on human-nature interactions and has worked extensively on multi-stakeholder collaboration and environmental conflict resolution.

CRISTIÁN GARCÍA-HUIDOBRO, CFO, Multiexport Foods
Cristián García-Huidobro is the CFO of Multiexport Foods S.A., a leading Chilean Salmon Producer Company listed in the Santiago Stock Exchange. Before joining Multiexport Foods in 2011, he worked for many years in several positions within the Finance and Administration areas at Viña Santa Rita and Compañía Sudamericana de Vapores (CSAV). Cristián holds a Bachelor in Business Administration and Economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an MBA from MIT Sloan, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.

CHRISTIAN SALBU AASLAND, CEO, Keep-it Technologies
Mr. Christian Salbu Aasland holds an M.Sc in physical electronics from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and an MBA from The Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). After spending five years in various positions in the R&D and technology department in one of Norway’ biggest companies Statoil ASA, he decided to quit and to start Keep-it Technologies. He has spent the last seven years developing a good idea from the University of Life Sciences from the lab bench onto a food you can buy in your local Rema 1000 store. Keep-it Technologies has increased its production six times last year, but the journey has just begun…

Drew Cherry is the Editorial Director of IntraFish Media, the world's largest seafood news and information provider. Cherry was born and raised in Alaska, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Davis, and a Master’s in Professional Writing from the University of Southern California.

EJNAR KNUDSEN, Managing Member, AGR Partners
AGR Partners is a private equity firm based in Visalia, CA, with capital provided by institutional pension investors. The firm is dedicated to the pursuit of long-term investments in the food and agriculture value-chain and seeks non-controlling equity or convertible debt structures, to facilitate late-stage growth, strategic acquisitions, and ownership transitions. AGR Partners’ current portfolio includes a $56mm/20% stake in the Ridley Corporation, Australia’s largest animal feed and renderer and is a partner in Opal Foods which is one of the largest US specialty egg producers.

FRANCOIS PAUL KUTTEL, CEO, Oceana Group
Bachelors of Accountancy, University of San Diego
On graduation, Francois joined his family's US-based fishing operations. He returned to South Africa in 1995 as managing director of Namibian Sea Products. He was chief executive officer of I&J for three years prior to being appointed to the Oceana board as chief executive officer in 2009.

GLENN COOKE, CEO, Cooke Aquaculture
Glenn Cooke is a global industry leader and CEO of Cooke Aquaculture, a successful family company with deep roots in Atlantic Canada and a history of contributing to his community and to wild salmon conservation. Together with his brother Mike and father Gifford, Glenn founded Kelly Cove Salmon -which later became Cooke Aquaculture in 1985 - with 5,000 Atlantic Salmon smolts and two cages on the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick, Canada. Today, Cooke Aquaculture is the largest salmon farming company in North America and is recognized as an industry leader in innovation and responsible farming.
Cooke Aquaculture is a vertically integrated company and its various divisions allow the company to control quality and costs from egg to plate. This includes freshwater hatcheries, seawater farms, processing facilities, feed plant, research and development, fish health services, net and cage manufacture and repair, trucking, sales and marketing and seafood distribution.
Glenn is a strategic leader, having developed and grown a successful, profitable business in Atlantic Canada. He has negotiated several international acquisitions and provides oversight to Chief Operating Officers, General Managers and Management teams in North America, Spain and Chile; providing steady employment to more than 2500 people. The recently announced agreement to purchase Meridian Salmon, a salmon farming company in Scotland, will bring Cooke’s annual sales to nearly one billion dollars once it is completed later this month.
Glenn has received many business and community awards over the years and was given an Honorary Doctorate by the University of New Brunswick in 2011.

HELGE MOEN, CEO, Kverva
Helge Moen holds a MSc in Economics and Finance from Warwick Business School. Mr. Moen held various positions in investment banking, though focusing on the marine sector, for many years before joining Kverva. He has been the managing director in Kverva for the last seven years.

HENRIK HEIBERG, VP Finance & Treasury, Marine Harvest
Henrik Heiberg is the VP Finance & Treasury/Finance Director of Marine Harvest ASA. Before joining Marine Harvest at its inception in 2006, Mr. Heiberg came from investment banking in London and Oslo, where he was responsible for on a large number of M&A transactions in the Nordic region. Mr Heiberg holds a MSc. from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and has a Major in Finance from the Stockholm School of Economics.

HENRY DEMONE, CEO, High Liner Foods
Henry Demone is CEO of High Liner Foods, the North American leader in frozen value-added seafood.  He has held leadership positions in many trade associations and volunteer organizations during his career, including Young Presidents’ Organization, Fisheries Council of Canada, the Groundfish Forum and the National Fisheries Institute in Washington DC.  He is currently Director of Saputo and serves on the Executive Committee of the Groundfish Forum

JAMES ANDERSON, Fisheries and Aquaculture, The World Bank
James L. Anderson is Advisor for Oceans, Fisheries and Aquaculture and leader of the Global Program on Fisheries and Aquaculture (PROFISH) and the public-private partnership The Alliance for Responsible Fishing (ALLFISH). Prior to joining the Bank in 2010, he chaired of the Department of Environmental & Natural Resource Economics at the University of Rhode Island. He has published numerous articles related to environmental and natural resource management, fisheries and aquaculture economics, seafood markets and international trade including The International Seafood Trade (2003) and The Great Salmon Run: Competition between Wild and Farmed Salmon (2007). Recent work has focused on the role of seafood in food security, constraints to aquaculture development, and evaluating how aquaculture and well-designed public-private partnerships changing the global seafood sector in both developed and developing nations. He was co-director for the Blue Ribbon Panel report Indispensable Ocean: Aligning Ocean Health and Human Well-being (2013). He was the editor of the international journal, Marine Resource Economics 1999 through 2011 and has served on three National Academy Sciences/NRC committees. He earned his B.S. in biology/economics from The College of William and Mary and his Ph.D. in agricultural and natural resource economics from the University of California, Davis.

JENNIFER KUO, Vice President of Corporate Planning, and General Manager of Animal Health, Grobest Holdings Ltd.
Jennifer Kuo is the Vice President of Corporate Planning, and General Manager of Animal Health Business Group of Grobest Holdings Ltd., Asia leading feed producer and seafood processor. Jennifer begun her career in 1992 in Grobest Group. She has over 20 years of experience in animal nutrition, animal health, R&D project management, corporate planning, business management and development, and general administration. Jenifer graduated with both master and bachelor degree of aquaculture from the National Taiwan Ocean University in 1992.

JOSÉ LUIS VIAL, CFO, AquaChile
José Luis Vial (b. 1973) assumed the position as CFO of the AquaChile group in December 2008. Before that appointment, he held the position as Financial Controller of the company. Prior to joining the AquaChile group, he held the position as CFO and Vice President for Marsh & McLennan Companies in Chile. His 16 year career has been focused on the areas of Finance and Management. Vial holds a Commercial Engineering degree from the Catholic University of Santiago in Chile. He is a Chilean citizen and currently resides in Puerto Varas, Chile.

KELLY WACHOWICZ, Partner, EKO Asset Management Partners
Kelly Wachowicz leads EKO's emerging work on sustainable fisheries investments. She has over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector including the build-out of new investment platforms, new business incubation, equity and debt underwriting and investing, investment structuring and product design, asset sales, financing, operations, incentive design, and governance. She has deep domain expertise in the forestry and real-estate sectors.

KNUT NESSE, CEO, Nutreco
Knut Nesse has been with Skretting and Nutreco for almost 20 years. During this period Nesse held various leading international positions in the company located in Norway and Chile. In 2009 Knut Nesse was appointed Chief Operations Officer Nutreco Aquaculture after originally being appointed head of Global Salmon Feed in 2006. In 2012 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Nutreco, located in the Netherlands. For a 2 year period from 1997 he worked for the Scana group as Finance Director of their Joint Venture in China

Knut Nesse has an MBA degree from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration, where he subsequently also attended the senior management program.

OLA NORDQUIST, Head of Nordic, Permira
Ola became a Principal in 2009 and is Head of Permira’s Nordic office. He has worked on a number of transactions including TDC and Pharmaq. Prior to joining Permira in 2005, Ola worked in London at Apax Partners on a number of buy-outs specifically covering the Nordic region and in M&A at Lehman Brothers. Previously, he was a Manager in the Strategy Division at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in Washington DC. Ola has a Masters in Economics from the Gothenburg School of Economics and Commercial Law, Sweden, and an MBA from Harvard Business School, USA.

PAUL A. JEWER, EVP and CFO , High Liner Foods
Paul has an extensive background in financial leadership. As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for High Liner Foods, he leads the company’s finance, controllership, internal audit, investor relations, and financial planning functions.
Paul was most recently CFO with Sobeys Inc., a leading Canadian grocery and food distributor. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and began his career with Ernst & Young LLP providing audit, tax, valuation and business advisory services for a variety of clients in various business sectors. Prior to joining Sobeys Inc. in 2003, he held a number of progressively senior finance positions in the technology sector.
In May 2008, Paul was recognized as a recipient of Canada's Top 40 Under 40TM award, which annually honours 40 Canadians under the age of 40 for vision, leadership, innovation, achievement and community involvement. Paul graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Acadia University. In 1997 he received his Chartered Accountant's designation. He is Chair of the Board of Governors of Acadia University, and sits on the Board of the Halifax Grammar School and the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council..

PÅL KORNELIUSSEN, Publisher, IntraFish Media
Pål Korneliussen, Publisher of IntraFish Media, has led the company for over 10 years. Before venturing into media Mr. Korneliussen worked in seafood (Lerøy Seafood, Kolnor Trading) and as a management consultant in the fish farming industry. Korneliussen holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration.

REGIN JACOBSEN, CEO, Bakkafrost
Mr. Jacobsen (born 1966) has been the CEO of Bakkafrost since 1989.  Mr. Jacobsen is educated at Aarhus School of Business, Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and Accounting (HD-R). From 1982 to 1988, Mr. Jacobsen was accounting manager of the former P/f Bakkafrost, and from 1988 until 2006, he held the position of Managing Director of the former P/f Bakkafrost.

TORBEN SVEJGARD, Group CEO, Biomar
Torben Svejgard is Group CEO in BioMar, one of the world’s leading fish feed producers. His educational background is Ms. of Economics and he has been with BioMar for 5 ½ years. Prior to that he held during 17 years different management positions at Danisco, a world leading food ingredient supplier and before that he was with Aarhus Olie, a major supplier of speciality vegetable oils and fats.

W.DEXTER PAINE, Chairman and CEO, Paine & Partners, LLC
Mr. Paine is Chairman and CEO and a founding Partner of Paine & Partners. Mr. Paine is a graduate of Williams College (B.A., Economics). He began his professional career at Bankers Trust Company in New York, and, in 1984, joined its Structured Finance Group in Los Angeles, California. In 1987, Mr. Paine joined Robertson Stephens & Company to establish a leveraged buyout group for the firm. In 1994, Mr. Paine joined Kohlberg & Company to establish and head the firm’s West Coast office. In 1997, he co-founded the Predecessor Firm, Fox Paine & Company, where he served as president from its inception until December 2007. Mr. Paine serves as a member of the boards of directors of WireCo World Group, Icicle Seafoods, Scanbio Marine Group Holdings (Norway) AS, Cevian Capital, and Capital Z Asset Management LLC and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. Mr. Paine is a former member of the International Board of Directors of Right to Play and past Chairman of the Board and Emeritus Trustee of Holderness School and the Nueva School.
